The Alex Ernandes Messenger of Faith Award is a $500 cash scholarship, given once a year to a deserving high school senior who lives his/her faith and inspires others. It is named for Alex Ernandes, who was a highly respected young man who influenced others through his faith in action. The award was established by his pastor after his untimely death, because of his service to the church and the community. It is open to young people of all Christian denominations, and presented at Resurrection Catholic Church.
